NEXT GEN USA ANNOUNCES COLLABORATION WITH IMG ACADEMY
Two leading youth development organizations join forces to promote holistic player development
Today Next Gen USA, a player centered youth development organization dedicated to accelerating the development of promising young players who aspire to play collegiately or professionally, announced it has joined forces with the world renowned IMG Academy.
Based in Bradenton, Fla., IMG Academy is the world’s largest and most advanced multi-sport training and educational institution. IMG helps countless youth, adult, collegiate and professional athletes reach their full potential in and out of sport.
“We are delighted to begin our collaboration with IMG Academy. They have a world class learning environment where our most promising young players from the Mid Atlantic states will now be able to benefit from warm weather “Best with best” training experiences that will help accelerate their development,” said Tony Williams, Next Gen USA Director of Youth Development.
During the prestigious IMG Cup in December, Next Gen and IMG Academy will offer a unique opportunity for top U16 & U17 players. They will train with leading international professional soccer clubs, receive college preparatory training, and showcase their talents to college coaches.
Next Gen will also bring their Select Squads to IMG Academy during the winter months. The Select Squads will attend training camps where players can be observed on and off the field for possible selection for 2016 international development experiences against top European and South American professional academies.
The collaboration will also provide opportunities to share best practices in holistic youth development and sports science. Next Gen and IMG Academy will both provide educational seminars for their players and coaches.
