John Curtis Joins Next Gen USA
Former Manchester United star appointed as New England Development Director
Next Gen USA announced today that John Curtis has been hired as their New England Development Director.
Next Gen USA is a non profit player progression platform created to support U.S. Soccer by providing supplemental club neutral talent identification and development programs.
Curtis’ primary responsibility will be to identify and support the development of promising young players throughout New England, providing them with a progressive pathway to reach their potential as College, Professional or International players.
Tony Williams, Next Gen USA’s Director of Youth Development, believes Curtis' experience, knowledge, and character will be of great benefit to both players and clubs throughout the region.
His playing and coaching experience includes some of the best clubs, players and coaching staff in the world. Curtis was the most capped England Schoolboy of all time and captained England at U15, U16, U18 & U20 Level.
He then went on to enjoy a distinguished professional career which included making 19 first team appearances for Manchester United and being part of the treble winning squad of 1999 where his teammates included Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and David Beckham.
As a coach Curtis holds the prestigious A license from the English Football Association. His vast experiences include working with top youth academies in England, Italy, Australia and most recently in the U.S. as Technical Director of Everton America CT.
